The Fourth Annual Black Convocation

The mission of the Black Convocation is to expose the richness and breadth of the Black community on the UChicago campus to incoming undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students. We aim to highlight, celebrate, and establish the culture and expectations of our community at the onset of each academic year.
The dress code for the event is formal, all-white attire.
Speakers for this year's ceremony include:
- Tyler Okeke (Student Speaker)
- Eric Williams (Community Speaker)
- Dr. Adrienne Brown (Faculty Keynote)
With performances by:
- Caleb Olumofin
- Narvella Sefah
- Harlem Moore + Samantha Taylor
- Elijah Jenkins
Following the program, join us for a light reception at the Cloister Club in Ida Noyes Hall at 1:30pm. Remarks will be provided by the University of Chicago Association of Black Alumni Representatives John Ellis and Shawn Hawk.
