What We Do

The Office of LGBTQ Student Life exists to support and uplift the university's LGBTQ-identified student body through a mixture of inclusive programming, training, advocacy, and events.

LGBTQ Student Life has partnered with over 75 organizations, supporting a wide range of programs and events at the University of Chicago. The office partners with departments and student organizations to provide financial, marketing, and space needs. Partners are expected to list LGBTQ Student Life as a sponsor and/or include the LGBTQ Student Life logo on marketing materials.

Marketing Opportunities

LGBTQ Student Life has numerous tools available to market programs and events to the LGBTQ community, including:

  • Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube
  • Listhosts: LGBTQ Student Life*, LGBTQ student organizations, targeted distribution to College and/or graduate and professional student lists
  • LGBTQ Student Life Website
  • Promotion at LGBTQ Student Life events

*LGBTQ Student Life listhosts are limited to university departments, centers, institutes, and other university offices. Programs must be a collaboration between LGBTQ Student Life and the requesting organization.  


LGBTQ Student Life is housed at the Center for Identity + Inclusion at 5710 South Woodlawn, a student center for LGBTQ and multicultural students. The Center contains numerous spaces to host events.
